Rowena Vaughan has drawn and painted all her life, although only recently has she been able to spend more time on her art. Rowena trained at Chelsea School of Art in Interior Design, running her own business in property development, interior design and project managment, RJV Designs, for over 30 years.
Rowena's art is a direct result of her love of colour, skies, landscapes around Britain. Working in watercolour, oils and collage, she is constantly experimenting with different styles and techniques, the most recent of which is needle felting. A craft technique that allows for bold bright colours by mixing woollen and silk yarn.
Rowena is the current chairman of SOFAP, the Society of Fulham Artists and Potters. A local art society which encourages both professional and amateur artists alike, holding two major exhibitions a year in the Exhibition Hall, Fulham Library, 283 Fulham Road, London. She is also a member of Chelsea Arts Society and a member of the British Institute of Interior Designers (BIID) and on their CPD Committee.
In 2018 Rowena was asked to speak at the Battersea, Affordable Art Fair about the link between Art and Interior Design. Her talk was well received and repeated again at the Hampstead show in the same year. She writes about the experience here for LInkedIn.
Rowena has sold her art at Chelsea Arts Club, on Instagram, SoFAP and through her website. If you would like to contact her to know more please email.
